Biggest Bucks in Maine Club for 2001

The following is a list of the top ten bucks for the year in Maine, in terms of field dressed weight. This is gutted completely.

1. 277lbs. dressed from Stacyville
2. 274lbs. from Bowman
3. 269 from Winslow
4. 265(2) from Portage and T16R13
5. 262 from Crystal
6. 260 from WELS
7. 258(2) from Eagle Lake and T18R10
8. 255(5) from Chase Stream, Benedicta, New Glaucester, Stratton, T2R2 WELS
9. 254 from T1R6 WBKP
10. 253(2) from Alder Brook and T11R11

This list shows a top buck of a little lighter than average, but an overall number of bucks over 253 that is way above the usual top ten. There are some fantastic racks in this list as well...I'm gonna go hunt the net for them. There was one floating around this site from one of the 265lb. bucks....he had the 8" bases and long brow tines. Man, these are some bruiser bucks!

Oops! Here's the Top Dog from the Maine Sportsman website!! 277lbs. with a tiny rack...yeah right.

Is E. Millinocket close to any of those sites you mentioned , it is not too far from Patten.....

Benedicta is just north of Millinocket and south of Patten on I95...Stacyville is right there too. Crystal is right next door to Patten. All these towns are within 15-20 miles "as the crow flies". Some of the TR's may be close by too, but I don't have a map of the townships. Millinocket has long been a great jumping off point and consistently has big deer taken locally. I couldn't find some of the other towns on a map, such as Bowman and Alder Brook...they may be local too. DLuke
