Default Picture of PA's 189" Typical

Do any of you guys know where I could find a picture of Fritz Janosky's PA state record typical? I have a picture in a book but I'd like to get a hold of one on line. I've had no luck finding it. It's a nice buck. It looks a lot like the Jordan buck. A very heavy, tall typical 10 point that net scores 189".

Fritz Janowsky shot PA's number one typical back in 1949 in Bradford County. There is a picture of him with the rack in Tom Fegley's "Hunting Pennsylvania Whitetails". The buck net scored 189 and 0/8" and was a heavy 5X5.

BarnesX.308, I vaguely remember hearing that name before, but the biggest typical killed in PA came from the same farm I hunt in Greene county.

It was killed in 1974 by Ivan Parry. To this day it still stands as a full body mount in the front window of Joes sporting goods in Waynesburg, PA.

I am pretty sure that it was finally beaten a couple of years ago, and is now the number 2 typical in PA.

BTW, the Parry buck netted 184 6/8".

The Janosky buck may have never been entered in B&C though. I will go to our game commission website and see what I can find out.

1 Janowsky, Fritz Wellsburg, Ny Bradford 1943 189-0
2 Parry, Ivan Graysville Greene 1974 184-6
3 Allison, Chester Harleysville Blair 1951 182-5
4 Reibson, Floyd Forksville Sullivan 1931 180-4
5 Miller, Raymond E Bedford Bedford 1957 177-5
6 Kinley, Perry Ridgway Jefferson 1920 177-0
7 Zerbe, John Mcclure Mifflin 1936 176-5

9 Young, Arthur Centre Hall Mckean 1930 175-4
10 Hoffman, Robert Mt Pleasant Westmoreland 1949 174-6

Sure enough, he just never entered it into B&C. I will try to find a picture.

I have that book. Very good in my opinion though a little bit out of date on some of the info now. I should pull it out again and give it another read.

As for the PA record book....I was under the impression that the number 1 Non-typical by bow was taken in Lehigh County sometime in the 80's or 90's. Can anyone clarify that for me?

The game commission's website has a list of all the big typicals, non-typicals and bears. I'll bet you'd have to take the game commission guy to the ATM with you if you his that non-typical with the car.
