TOOK A 144lb. DRESSED SOW THIS MORNING AT 9:30am!!!! FRIEND SAW IT, BUT HAD NO SHOT, CALLED ME ON THE RADIO TOLD ME SHE WAS HEADING RIGHT TO ME, WITHIN 30 SECONDS, I HEAR HER, AND TOOK A 50yd. SHOT, DOWNED HER THERE. USED MY REMINGTON 11-87, RIFLED/CANTILEVER SLUG GUN, WITH 2.75" LIGHTFEILDS.

If i remember right it is zone 2 right?My buddy shot a 420 lb male this morning.It was 10 till 9 and he was just about to get out of the stand when this big guy appeared.Another 5 minutes and this bear would have been in the clear. The guy checking in the bear said my buddies black bear will definatly make boone and crocket based on the size of the head. he gave my friend some info to have it scored. I was really happy for him he can't wipe the grin from his face.
AS FAR BUTCHERING IT, I'M DOIN IT MYSELF. TAKEN IT TO MY FRIEND GEORGE, HE'S GOING TO SKIN IT OUT THIS AFTERNOON, AND HE'S DOIN A FULL BODY MOUNT. REASONS FOR A FULL BODY MOUNT IS THAT THIS IS A NJ BEAR, WHO KNOWS IF THEY WILL HAVE ANOTHER SEASON, AND IF THEY DO I MAY NEVER GET ANOTHER, ALSO I HAVE TAKEN 2 OTHER BEARS WITH ARCHERY IN CANADA ONE IS A RUG, ANOTHER IS 3/4 MOUNT. TOOK 1 LIGHTFIELD SLUG AT 50yds.
