Default Berks County PA monster

19 pointer shot in Berks County. Here's the link to the newspaper article. It's a big main frame 10 pointer with lots of extra stuff.

It was after 6 a.m. by the time he arrived at the Berks County property he hunts, a 120-acre farm near Lenhartsville,
Lenhartsville is less than 20 minutes from my house. I pass close to it every time I head out to Cabelas....

At Game Lands No. 205 in Lowhill Township, a group of three friends had four does among them by 8 a.m. Ronald Kleckner and Nino Zampell of Schnecksville and Robert Moser of Bethlehem took their deer while hunting off Mill Creek Road. Kleckner shot two does, while Zampell and Moser each got one.
Mill Creek Road is right where I normally hunt though I was not there for the opening day of rifle. I probably see these guys on a daily basis. The area that they took their deer is so affectionately known as "hamburger hill"....and for good reason.

By 5:30 p.m., hunters had dropped off 80 deer at Hartman's Butcher Shop in New Tripoli. Owner Dennis Hartman said the largest-racked bucks typically arrive just before closing time at 8 p.m.,
That place is less than a minute from my house. I drive by it each day on my way to work. There sure have been alot of orange hats driving by me for the last few days. I would be willing to bet that hunter numbers are up this year.

Small world...don't ya think?

Could you see the picture? It never loaded for me. I have the actual news paper here so I know it's a nice one. I just hope others can see it.

I could not see the pic either though I can check with either my parents or my in-laws to see if they have that particular Morning Call yet. We only get it on Sundays.

That stinks. It would score very well. It's got about a 24 inch spread, it's very heavy and it has good tine length.

If one of them does have it then I will see if they can scan it and send it to me.

On a totally related note, a buddy of mine who moved to Florida called me yesterday afternoon. Apparently, he heard about it down there already. Word travels fast....
