haha not exactly... I hear stories of how my famile would see heards of 15 deer at a time the first day of rifle season. I' m 18 and in my short career I have never even seen that many deer in one day while rifle hunting.

I will go with the answer of..depends.
2 weeks ago, i sat on a heavily used trail, lost count at 20 deer, with at least 2 shooter bucks
Hunted above that trail where they have to cross a logging road this past friday......wanna take a guess on how many deer I saw? 0.

Considering taking up a new hobby/sport.

I hunt three different seasons and 3 different properties each season.

Archery property - I usually would see 2-3 deer each morning. Nothing in the afternoon. This Year I haven' t seen a thing in the morning or the afternoon I have been out way too much but will keep at it. While scouting on Saturday I found 10 scrapes in 30 yards. I know all bets are off but good travel route.

Rifle season - not uncommon to see at least 10 deer while sitting first 3 hours, usally see about 6-14 more when we start drives.

Late Muzzleloading season - far and away the season where I see the most deer we do 3 drives and usually push out 12 deer or more each drive it is like a jail break. And they just stand there once they reach the next patch of cover which is usually where we post the shooters. I have shot and reloaded on many occaisions.

I wouldn' t say a deer behind every tree here in PA. If there is you can bet you sure can' t hunt that property
