Success - just not mine
well guy on other side of property 300 yards away said he has been seeing lots of deer and that my stand should be good since acorns are abundent. Well I haven' t seen a thing yet all year. He says he has been seeing 4-6 deer a day just not in range.
Sat Morning he took this near 8 pointer. (few broken points) so it looks as though there are a few more buck in the area. But he smokes, worries little about scent control. Chalk one up for knowing the land and having a good wind. On the bright side I have vaction time coming and he said I can hunt the back side where he usually hangs out. I don' t think I am ready to give up my stand quite yet. But maybe an evening or morning venturing over to the other side once the weather gets back to normal is in order for this friday or next.
