I seem to think that WV is later than Maryland for rut activity by about two weeks. I don' t hardly see many rubs or scrapes for another week or so. Too, winter was hard on the deer, where I am at anyway.

I have been seeing rubs and scrapes since mid-September in Nicholas County.

I don' t know about rubs, but it was my understanding that scraping is an activity done primarily by mature bucks. Subordinates will visit and paw existing scrapes, but not create them.

Dunno....just a thought to consider. Take more does.

Good luck to all my fellow Mountaineers...lets have a good, safe season in the woods.

Seeing a lot of rubs in Logan and Lincoln counties. No scrapes yet, though. Acorns hit everywhere down here.
