letters preferred from non-residents
We ask non-residents to send us a letter through the contact page of our website. We will forward your letter along with the petition to policy-decision makers.
Some nonresidents have expressed interest in dove hunting in NY for different reasons.
Some people from bordering states that also do not allow dove hunting would like this opportunity.
Some nonresident hunters have indicated in their letters that they own land in NY (and pay taxes on it) and have lots of doves on their own property they cannot legally harvest.
We have also had hunters from bordering Pennsylvania which allows dove hunting, but not Sunday hunting, say that the Sunday ban in their state sometimes causes them to miss part of the dove migration and would indeed buy a NY license to get in 2 or 3 extra days during peak migration and crop harvest which also concentrates doves.
Full name and contact info is needed on your letter.
Looking forward to receiving your letter!
