Default Spotted Fawns in Jersey

We were coming home from fishing out of Cape May (good day, lots of fish) and saw a lot of deer on the side of the Parkway and AC Expressway. A lot of them were little fawns with very prominent spots. Two of the fawns were alone with no doe in sight. I usually see fawns this young in May but never before in October. Is this strange?

Default RE: Spotted Fawns in Jersey

Scott about two weeks ago I was out hunting in NJ and saw a bunch of fawns with spots around here. But I have not seen them for a couple weeks so maybe they are starting to loose their spots. But even though they had spots on them they were nice and fat even though no mother was around at all. I just watched them feed in front of me for an hour. I hope they do ok through another winter.

Brian

Good luck this season.
