Wheres all the Maine Hunting Posts?

Any Maine hunters in this Northeast forum?Don' t seem to be a very lively crowd from the pine tree state.Out scouting and putting up stands getting ready for the season,how about you?

Woods...how many of your stands do you have out so far? DL

Only two so far,I' m being very picky about where I put them and its going kinda slow.Going out today to scout for next spot,usually have all nine out by end of September so I' m somewhat behind this year.Do you put out stands DLuke?If so are you putting any out yet?

Well looky here........a couple of guys talking about Maine! You two must be lost

I got my cast off last Thursday, and I' m now hobbling around a bit in a walking cast. Pretty soon I' ll be out scouting! Bird season starts Wednesday so I' ll be doing some scouting while I bird hunt. Been staring at topos for hours on end lately, can' t wait to look at some trees instead of squiggly lines

My stand is in - actually, it' s been in for about 30 years now and the guy who built it is probably dead by now, but my brother and I rebuilt it back in August. Most productive stand in Maine. One year a total of five bucks came off the same stand by different family members and a couple friends.

Living in exile down here in Mass-hole-chew-sucks I won' t be able to hunt opening day, so my brother will get first crack at any big ones that wander past him. But I' ll be there walking with my shotgun to hopefully get a couple of partridge while everyone else gets the opening day shooting.

But, only a month away now. *twitch* *twitch*

strangebiller....where do you hunt in Maine? You should stop by the forum at the link in my above post. It may be a temporary cure for that twitch. DL
