Default Connecticut Rut

CT Hunters: What are you seeing in terms of rut activity in CT?

I hunt Cokaponsett along with several other hunters and none of us have seen any hard signs of rutting activity.

What are you seeing?

Been seeing bucks chasing does for the last week or so, plenty of scrapes on the ground and mid day moving bucks.
I hunt SE CT on public land and got a 8 point that was tending a scrape line at 10AM.

The DEP Biologist at the check in station takes a tissue sample (with hunters permission) for analysis at a later time. What they are looking for with the sample I do not know.

Default Dental and jaw sample

Removed so Wildlife Biologists can determine age of the deer.

Hunted last Saturday and on the way home we took a dirt road that borders our hunting area. Spotted 5 deer on the side of the road. 4 does and 1 decent buck that had his nose stuck in one of the does arse. He was riding her like zorro.
