NY gun hunt

Looking to gun hunt in NY for first time. Any info on LARGE tracts of public land in zone 8 that is a good starting point? Upstate NY is beautiful!!

Yes I love the rolling hills type of hunting in the Soutern portion of the State .
Zone 8?? R,S,T,P,????
Most areas have some nice bucks and doe .
Trouble is locating a private parcel to hunt on .
I,ve never hunted the State land , but I,m not far from it .

Erwin Wildlife Mgt. Area... 8T I believe.

Tracy Creek, near Rathbone....Cameron State Forest, north of Cameron....Lots of state land near Monterey, including Sugar Hill... Pinnacle State Forest and State park near Addison..

Much of the state land gets little hunting pressure after the first weekend..

Get yourself a copy of the NYS Atlas and Gazateer.I've been a NY resident for 54 yrs and it has helped me find hunting/fishing spots I never would have without it plus it just saves a lot of driving time.
