Default Very Tough Opening Day In New Jersey

I knew I may not see a deer or they might be well out of range being I have a total of 8 different bears roaming near my stand daily, I thought and my friends thought I would have a bear down, but it didn't happen. It wasn't hunter pressure as I didn't see a hunter, what killed my hunt was a NorthWest wind, it was blowing right towards private land that no one allows to hunt, this is where the deer come from and goto, and the bears seem to be doing the same. I will not hunt this spot until the winds change direction, which looks to be Thursday. I still had a great time being in the woods. From what I heard from others it was tough for them as well

It was certainly a cold and windy morning, i saw a good amount of does and ended up shooting a decent 6 pointer at 10:30. i was happy to get down and warm up by gutting it! I expected to have some of the guys I know kill some bears but no one I know got one surprisingly. good luck the rest of the week!

Hunter4life, which deer zone did you hunt? I was hunting a few miles from the Digmans Ferry Bridge, didn't see a hunter, didn't see any game

Hunted, Mon am and Tues pm. Saw nothing but birds flying sideways. No hunters to get em up and moving. Very few distant shots.
