Default Legal in PA? 3/side

A friend just sent me this picture of a buck shot this morning in PA. a 3/side restriction area.

Both g-2's were broken off to a stub and it didn't have brow tines.

What does everyone think?

Legal??

No matter how you look at it, it's a 6 point buck, as well as the 3 pts. to (1) side............Legal

IMHO the buck would only be legal if one of the broken 2G stubs was at least 1" long. The stub on the right antler might be an inch , but I wouldn't have taken the chance.

IMO it's a legal buck. It's obvious there were at least 3 points on one side. A Game Warden , under normal circumstances, would use common sense in that situaation.

A game warden in Ontario may use common sense, but some WCOs in PA would use a micrometer to determine if the 2G was legal.

That is definately a legal buck. It is obvious that this buck had 3 pts per side (only one side necessary). This would be obvious even though a scope or binos at a distance.

He told me that the deer snuck up to 60 yards staring straight at him. Saw the Y and saw points behind. Deer was in a stare down and ready to bolt. Assumed with brows 6 minimum. I truly think it is 6 also.

His first deer in 19 years of rifle hunting PA. I know that doesn't matter but in the end it is a good deer.

Are you claiming you can tell that the broken 2G was at least 1" even at a distance or are you saying that they was once an obvious point before it was broken?

100% correct!
No matter who the game warden was, even Barney Fife would have agreed that this WAS originally a 6 point buck regardless HOW LONG the tines are NOW.

Doesnt matter what it had before they broke off, right? It looks like the left g2 is an inch so he would be fine but if they were all broken off to 1/2" i think he'd be in trouble.
