Default PA bowhunters, anyone seeing chasing behavior yet?

To me it seems way too early but I'm catching spotty reports of bucks chasing like they ought to be two weeks from now. A buddy tells me he speared a doe Saturday that crashed off and to his surprise, a decent buck was right behind her just out of sight till the shot and even after the shot, exhibited all the signs of a buck tending a hot doe. I havent seen anything like that yet but he tells me that quite a few guys in his shop are seing similar behavior.

If you follow the rutting moon theory (second full moon after the equinox) the rut should fall early but this seems too early.

What're you guys seeing out there?

My most recent hunt was Monday afternoon; I saw one doe and she didn't have any followers like I was hoping for. I know here at my house in Monroe County they're calling for a possible 1-4 inches of the white fluffy stuff and up at my buddies in Pike County they're saying 3-7 inches are possible by Friday night. I think that might stir things up a bit, but I think we've still got another week or so before it really starts to kick in.

I saw but one single buck so far, although I only hunted one day to this point.
He wasn't exhibiting any type of rutting behavior that I could discern.
I bet this cold week got them moving now a bit.

Ever year someone sees a buck running a doe early and sounds the "rut alarm." I never basei t on young bucks...those 1 1/2 year olds will run does as soon sometimes as they lose velvet. When you see a mature buck doing it, then its for real. Wait till close to halloween for any real buck activity to dramatically increase, chasing in early november, breeding beginning around the 10th. I also follow Alsheimer's predictions and he is darn close to spot on most of the time.

Still seeing bucks running together. Yesterday on the way to the doctor's at 2:10pm. Saw three eight points together eighty yards off a major highway.

i have not witnessed any true chasing, maybe bucks simply following paths of does, but no pre-rut yet for me in 4E or 4D
