WV turkey count (did you get one??)
I was wondering how you all did.
I killed a big jake the first morning I got out. He was comin my way along with another jake and subsequently two big gobblers. I knew there were a couple big gobblers that were calling and I got to watch the two jakes come to me thru a field at sunrise. I decided easily that I was going to take the first legal bird within range, as I've been on a two year drought. Saw those two and got ready. When I shot and he flopped, Isaw the other two gobbloers running back through the field. Oh well, I was happy.
The only other morning was on some really good public land and I had a great experience (although no shot/success) with a big beard who was gobbling his head off.
