Default Herkimer County, New York Hunters

Who here hunts herkimer county. My family was able to get 4 this year. 3 Does and a spike. This was the first year hunting there. This year im gonna try to convince my father and brother to not take any smaller bucks and to let them grow.

How was everyone elses seasons in herkimer county? Im on the schuyler, newport line. Seemed like i would see one or two deer every other day. How about you? How have the deer sprung back from the season up there?

Only 7 more months!

Its in your thread starter but a few details for those of us unfamiliar with the area might get a discussion started .

Where in N.Y. are you talking about, anywhere near the PA border?

I'm right next door in Lewis county but I've never hunted there even though it's minutes away.I am doing some scouting there this year.I'm sure it will pay off with a few new areas for me to hunt next season..My first ever deer hunt was just north in Hamilton co.There's not nearly as many deer compared to the S zone but more often they are older/bigger here.
