Default Its a great day in PA

Sunny and warm, just might be a great afternoon for a little shed hunting.
Are any of you going to spend some time in the great outdoors today?
I am and I don't have any thing to worry about because.

Its spring time so breeding rates are of no concern.
I haven't ever seen a mountian lion this time of year.
I don't live in 2F or 2G

Get out and Have a great day,Jim

I do happen to know where a 2.5 year old buck seems to have spent the winter, and on my way to work on Monday I saw what I believe was the same deer minus his horns. I might take an hour or two and have a look. Really looking forward to next wkd if the weather holds up for some more serious shed hunting up north, and looking around for some turkeys, maybe stop and say hello to the fish warden and get a handle on the preseaon trout stocking. C'mon spring!

Now c'mon Jim! Didja ever stop and think that some of us might already be out there rather than hammerin a keyboard? Took a shed walk this AM and goin back out to shoot my new 22-250 in cause I'm headed to Illinois tomorrow to hunt sheds and coyotes. It's supposed to be decent all weekend out that way

Just got back from a little trip to the woods and one of my trout streams. Made myself a coffee and checked in to see what was new on the forum. I see Jim added a new topic fitting to what I just did today.I watched the weather last night, even though it was to be quite chilly last night,I still planned to go out early this morning. Got up at 6:00am and arrived at the top of ridge to listen for what I think is the most exciting sound that spring can offer. The gobble from the "ol boss tom." Last nights chill made the birds roost low in the hollows. The first gobble didn't pierce the morning silence until 8:37am. But it was worth the wait! Things picked up an hour later. Heard 7 to 8 total for the morning. Left the mountain a little before ten. Stopped and took a walk along the designated delayed harvest section on a local stream. Wanted to see if or any changes, that might have been made from high winter waters or ice jams. They will be stocking this section next week. So here is my contribution to Jim's topic.I don't know about anyone else, but I just had a great dayin Pa.Now it's time to go downstairs and hit the tying bench to get ready for some early trout fishing on the delayed harvest and for the upcoming spring Steelhead trips.

Good Luck tomorrow! It has been almost 11 years since I fished that creek.

I have been in the woods at least 5 days a week for the past two months, cutting browse and firewood. The warm weather is nice but it will turn my trails to mud and I'll have to stop hauling wood until things dry up. Haven't seen any buck or found any sheds ,but 4 doe are hitting the browse.
