I am looking to go bear hunting next year any help on where would be a good place to go and get a good chance at bagging a nice bear I live in upstate new york and own land in southern tier.
BOWANNA03: Less than three hour drive, you could be in the Five Pond Primitive area, or St.Regis Canoe Prim. Area. Last 5 years I have taken two bear there, and passed on several. All still hunting. However, I don't plan on shooting another. PITA to get out of those spots.

Theres alot of bears around here, Orange and Sullivan co. Also, in the adirondaks, you can use your previous years tag during the early season, in mid sept. I always wanted to go on some sort of adventure up there. Next year, I just might.

I have some family that have a ton of land up in Gouverneur if I spelled it right so I think this year I am going to head up there and get a nice bear would love to get it with the bow but I wont be picky I will take it with the rifle if I have to.
