LOL, got to be kidding, WV was full of Pa. people this year at the watering holes. They are the biggest buyer of land the past 5 years. I hunted 3 days there and seen 51 doe and 19 buck. Brought home a average 11 pt and 4 pt. I have not taken pics of my deer in years. And I usually cut up the antlers and make things.

They buy land because of the liberal bag limits.
As long as they manage their privateland it's OK.
On any publicland there are no bucks.

Greetings everyone,
New here on the forum, and thought I would reply to the WV thread.
We had another great year in camp this year, with 15 deer taken this season. We finally decided to see what all the rave was about with the deer cameras this year, and after a 48 hour placement, we were pleasantly suprised with the results...(70 pics) to include this fella out of my stand.

This year we bagged8 for bow season, and the rest rifle.
I hail from Ohio, live in Florida, and hunt in WV....LOL, so the bucks are not "big" in relationship to Ohio...but they will eat.
Here is one of my Ohio bucks... pic is from 1991.

Had a wonderful hunt on this buck this year...rattled, called, rattled, called, he came in to freshen up his rub line, I watched him make a scrape, them start to move off to his other rub, (+ 40 yards, and moving away) when I grunted...turned him, he got 18 yards broadside... he is now in the freezer.
Good luck to everyone who is stillsearching for their first season deer.

I got an opening day 7 point.

Then on Wednesday I got a 10 pointer, my first 10 point and the first 10 taken off our property.

I hunt right on the Harrison/Marion County border in Oakdale.

Some real nice bucks posted on the forum in the Bowhunting section.

I used to lease some land just south ofHundred West Virginia. Man, those deer were all over the place. Overpopulated really. Many of the deer looked frail and under nourished in the area I hunted.

Great place to take a kid you are trying to get interested in hunting. Chances for success were extremely high.

We had an OK year in Braxton County. We all killed a deer...but only one buck. It was a whopper, though. It was an 8pt that was high and about 19" inside. It wrapped around and the tips were only about 2" apart in front. Cool rack.

We really didn't see that many bucks...but we sure did see does.
