Default Delaware Shotgun Season Round One Over

All - Delaware shotgun season has come and gone for the first round. We have another in Jan.

I'm wondering how the Delaware hunters faired. I took a 9pt on the first Sat on public land (Posted pic in another thread). Saw nothing last Saturday.

My neighbors took 4 deer from private land in lower Delaware.

How did you do?

I saw a lot of does, but didnt see any bucks that I wanted to pull the trigger on. I will be bow hunting a lot in DE, NJ the next couple weeks so hopefully I can make it happen. What state land do you hunt? I always do good at White Clay, Blackbird, and Bombay Hook.

I hunt the canal and some of the northern wildlife areas. Would like to learn a few more spots and expand to roads less traveled. The late season, I like to try to learn a few new areas. Pressure is down and I carry my bow most of the time.

Come on guys - what action did the rest of the folks have?

Havn't been in the 3 years I have been here.Bought a license every year though.Havn't info on a place worthy of hunting, public land just doesn't do it for me although I'm told there is some great public land downstate, just havn't located it yet. I will be doing a hunt in some parkupstate with the Master Hunter program Dec 18. Actually not a hunt, more like population control.

RonM - Your right on. I seem to always miss the antlerless only season since I switch back to bow hunting till the next shotgun for buck. I'm sure a lot of folks hunt for doe though! Was out the Friday after Thanksgiving and did not see a tail. I struggle every year after the rut. Need to come up with a better plan!

So, will you be getting out? How did you make out this season thus far? Curious to know.
