My old man shot this beauty last week at our ADK camp. I can tell you in an area where the average is .5 bucks per square mile this is a huge accomplishment. Dad hunts hard up there and this is a well deserved buck. He doe bleated him in at a funnel point between a hardwood ridge and a swamp where two brooks come together. He was 220+ lbs of mountain muscle.
Nice. Where abouts? I canoe & camp in the St. Regis / Keene Valley area in summer - I love it up there and would love to hunt there. Maybe some day. In summer I see more bear & moose tracks but no deer! I'm further south now, but grew up in Montreal. I'm guessing you're from north of the border from your handle.
My hometown is Malone but dad and momstilllivein the Town of Bellmont and our house is only about 10 miles south the Border. The deer up there are few and far between. I have been fortunate to take some nicebuck up thereand this is Dads 3rd buck in his life from up there that will score 140's plus.
Congratulations!! That is a super north country buck!!
