where i hunt in massachusetts, there isn't that many rubs or scrapes, compared to last year. the bucks are there ive got quite a few pictures. they dont seem to be chasing, the doesare still in there own groups. AND NO ACORNS. the scrapes that i have were opened once and that was it, last year they were checking them regularly. has anybody seen this in there areas, and where are you from?
they were chasing in my area...right past my ground blind, but the problem is...there are just
to many does..i try hunting near the bedding areas but it didnt work out this week.
the weather was funky too
Here in maine, I have seen the same thing as well. I am not sure if it is because of coyotes or moose driving them around. They will make a scrape and not be back for 5 or 6 days. It is hard to catch them in the same scrape as the just keep moving around so much. They also do not appear to be attracted to any scents either.. I did find a couple of rubs to go with the scrapes though.
