Default NY LAND!!!

If a guy and his brother were wanting to purchase some land in NY for a hunting camp, around what towns would he look? I am looking for 10+ acres, love farm land. We are traveling from NH so something close would also be nice! With in say 3-4 hours. Any help or a point in the right direction would be awesome. Oh we are not millionaries so price is a huge consideration. Thanks for your help Dennis and Mike

I'd be checking around the Finger Lakes area. Also, the Prattsburg area has some great deer.

i dont live in ny but close, i live in pa.

here is what i would do and this is from 45 years at it.

i would look for small town in depressed area near good hunting.

there i would look for a beat up home, not real bad but needs work.

then fix iot up yourself or have carpenter do it.

you could be in woods in 10 minutes to hunt.

reason i say this is many but will try to reduce it somewhat.

1.snow and bad roads will keep you home in winter.
2.bugs
3.camps get bro into, you cant leave anything good there.
4.trees,pests,weather take beaten on camp
5.camps are a lot of work on maintanence.
6.lately high taxes on camps.
7.do you have electric?
8.sewer
9.water

you dont need the 7,8,9 but in time,YOU WILL WANT IT.

i have friends that nowhave home in our town, they paid 10,000 for home and put 25,000 in it.

its beautiful.

they said they would NEVER go back to camp.

they can be in woods in 10 minutes.

i have camp and i only use it 1 time a year.

its a LOT of work, taxes, camp break ins, tresspassers,on and on.
