I would like to know if it is legal to use a muzzleloader during
the regular deer season instead of a shot gun....I just
can't get used to hunting deer with a shot gun....I have
looked in the book and see no gun regulations at all.....Johnny
Muzzleloaders can be used during the Regular gun season. You will NOT need to purchase the muzzleloader license unless you plan on hunting in the late muzzleloader season. Many of us are preferring to use ML during the regular deer season, due to the accuracy and extended range.
Buy the super sportman and be done with it. This way you can hunt bow early and muzzy late. Plus you get the extra tag. I think they are $75.00 which goes to the DEC anyways.

Yep! You can use your ML during shotgun season but you cannot tag your deer with a ML tag during the shotgun season.
