Default 2 More Massachusetts Deer

My brother in law and his buddy worked all day to get these 2 deer this past Sat in over a foot of snow.

This is Johnny's first deer ever... Very nice little 5 point. He still hasn't stopped smiling!

This is my brother in law's first deer of the season. He usually has 2 or 3 down by now, but he has been busy building his new home and has not been out much. He has had a couple of opportunities this year, but they didn't work out.

Very nice MA deer!

I see them all as trophies here...and to just see one in the woods is the best!

Nice deer...any deer in MA is hard earned.

I hunted some 67+ hours in MA, shotgun. Saw only 4 deer.Missed a fork in zone 2 first saturday on a hard shot. Second week, I got a wide but thin racked 6/8pt (if you count the small brows) Thursday afternoon, zone 1. VERY happy about that, but it was a tough season.

Also hunted some 25 hours in NH...saw zip.

I'd call him an 8!

I have hunted a ton this season... Saw 4 deer...
Shot all 4... Big doe... Little doe... 6 point (maybe a 5! )... 3 point.

Thats a good season. The other two deer I sawI never had a shot at them. Just too much in the way, and I had a doe permit for the area too.

That buck was shot in Williamstown. Care to guess his dressed weight?? You'll be shocked...

It is really tough to tell in the pic... Maybe mid 130s? Can't see too much of him.

One of my does was 115lb, the smaller was 72lb,the 6 was 135lb, and the 3 was 132lb!

I got to the deer and was sure he'd go 130-140 dressed. Threw him on the scale at B & G and he was only 111lbs!! I still can't believe it, when I look at the pictures.I guess he could be rutted out and all. He had been working the mtn hard and had three broken tines from fighting. they say a buck can drop 25% of his weight during rut, so that would make him about 138 pre-rutwhich is more "right". I think the deer is 3.5 YO but it was never aged..
