Default A couple of small MA bucks

My buddy and I shot these 2 this past Sat. on state land here in MA on the last day of shotgun. Both bucks were together.

Mine was only a little 3 pointer, but had a decent body on him.
My buddy took a decent 6 which was a very large deer. The pic of his really doesn't show the body size.

Thanks Mike... Only other MA hunters can appreciate it!
Some buddies went out Sat and ran into a herd of them. On kid got his first, a nice big 5 point, another got a spike, and 2 got does. One guy missed a B&C 3 point and my wife's cousin has a misfire w/ his muzzleloader on the 3 point.. then, as he was trying to reload he had 2 nice 8s and a half rack (4 on 1 side) come by him at 35 yards! They figured they moved 15 deer or so. Anotherr 2 guys missed does.

Hey Western MA Hunter...great job! Filled your buck tags huh!

Did you head shot yours? Give me the story here...were you on stand, still hunting, or driving em?

I had a big doe here in zone 10 at 45 yards broadside as I still hunted up on her...put the scope crosshairs on her and click! No BANG! Primer was froze.

You getting out for muzzleloader?

Jim

Neck,
We were doing a 3 man still hunt / slow drive... we just lined up about 100 yards apart in a line... i was high man, the guy who shot the 6 was middle, and my other buddy was low. We just slowly made our way up a pine ridge and they walked right into the middle guy. He shot at both, hit the 6 in the neck, and grazed mine on the hind quarter. I immediately crouched down w/ the shots and waited. Nothing. A couple of minutes later I stood back up and heard a deer blow. I couldn't get a shot off since it was between me and him in the pines. I ran to try and cut it off to turn him back or get another shot off. I never saw the deer. It turns it out it cut straight down. I looked back and saw a deer's head and neck back ahead of where I was. I put the scope on the bridge of his nose and that was the end of him!
Great hunt. Happened very fast.

Sorry to hear about the muzzleloader mishap. That sucks.
My brother in law and his buddy both misfired on does Friday afternoon. My wife's uncle misfired on a 3 pointer when they got those 4 this past Sat. While trying to reload he had 2 nice 8 points and a half rack come by him!
I will be out this Sat and the last Friday & Sat w/ the muzzleloader. We'll see what happens.
Last year I took a very nice doe and missed one the last week w/ the smokepole. We usually get more deer w/ that than the shotgun.

Hey those are some nice deer. All deer in MA are well earned, especially the bucks.
