Default Dec 3rd NY buck

After work went out for a short evening watch at a place I have never hunted. Wind was in wrong direction, snow was crunchy and I had no intentions of seeing anything. To cover my scent every 50 yds or so I sprayed a short spray of doe urine. I found a spot that looked like it may have promise and sat. I hunched down on the stone wall, leaned my rifle against a tree, looked up and saw a buck coming!! Waited for it to clear some brush then shot it! Ive always heard these short hunt stories from others, but never thought it would happen to me. Very pleased with this late season buck, in 5n. check out the warts on his eye.

The old 01 ny tag was was in my back tag holder.... the current tag is in the ear next to it.... The back tag holder pin is all I had to use to hold the current tag in place.

Good deal...congrats. He appears to be young (short snout) so I'll bet he'll be good eating. Way to go.

Nice buck. Congrats. Sounds like a quick and exciting evening.
Sometimes that's just the way it happens!
