How has everyone in VT been doing so far during rifle season? I cant get into the woods until the weekend of the 17th and the following weekend and I am wondering how the season started.

The rifle season in Northern NY is around 6-7 weeks long. Just wondering how long the season is in Vermont? I think we have a rifle season that is too long. We would most likely see more and bigger deer around if ours was a little shorter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The VT rifle season goes from Nov 10th until Nov 25th so its just over two weeks. Our season is shorter than yours because we have a fewer number of quality deer to start with. There are lots of small deer here in Vermont, and our Fish and Wildlife department put some restrictions on taking small bucks within the last couple years. The restrictions are starting to pay off. In other words we have been seeing larger deer with bigger racks. Hope this helps.
