Allegheny County Police Homicide and the Indiana Township Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred on 10/6/07 in the wooded area behind the Indianola United Presbyterian Church located at 899 Route 910 in Indianola. Jason Davies, age 19, was shot in the face, neck and arm while bow hunting from a tree stand. It appears that this shooting was deliberate and not a hunting accident. The shooter has been described as a white male, possibly in his forties, approximately 6' to 6'2" tall with a medium to athletic build and grayish hair. The shooter was wearing hunting gear and carrying a shotgun. The suspect's vehicle is described as maroon pick-up truck with a matching maroon cap, possibly a 1990's GMC or Chevy. The family is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification of the person responsible for this shooting. Attached is a copy of the flier being distributed in the Indianola area. Any information contact Det. Scott Scherer (412-473-1316) or Det. Terry Heidger (412) 473-1310.
From what my brother said he is not doing very well was having more surgery I believe yesterday. He does have insurance from his work, but still has a load of bills coming in. My brother said they are not sure IF or when he will be able to return to work They(Fire Department) are looking at possible doing a fundraiser, but need to find a location and stuff to do it first. The hall they have at their department is tiny. They are not sure if he will ever be able to see again or not. Last I heard they had removed close to 90 pellets from his face alone and he had more still in his eyes. One report said there were actually two shots fired, so not sure on that one.
They have not caught him that is why there is a reward out. As far as did he know him I do not believe he can remember anything. Another guy that was hunting with the victim saw the other person who shot his buddy take off after shooting him
Before everyone goes jumping to conclusions, do we really know what happened on both sides of this story. How do we know the bowhunter did not take a shot at him with his bow?
Are you saying that the victim might have shot in the dark at the gun hunter under him, thinking he was a deer? First I heard of that scenario.
Wouldn't you yell instead of blasting the guy out of the tree? Twice!
Sounds like a hit to me.

The bow hunter did not shoot, actually from what I was told his buddy heard him yell at the shooter before he heard the shots.(two shots is what I had heard, not a single accidental shot)
As far as getting much more story from the victim he is still in to bad of shape and cannot remember much

WHAT??!![:@]Did I just read this? Even if he did shoot an arrow at him, no one deserves to be filled full of lead. Would YOU shoot back if you mistaken for a deer? We are not the law people!!!
