Questions fo ma bear hunters

Hi guys, I'm planing on bow hunting for bear this up coming season for the first time in mass,and I was wondering if the majority of the hunting is done on state land or private property.I'v been scoutting out some spots on state land and thay look good,but should i try to get permission for private land if possible?

I am no expert. But private might be justa little bitbetter if there is a corn crop or some otherfood source. (baiting illegal)However, Some of the best bear area I know are on public lands. Beechnuts are a natural favorite for the bears.

What jf5 said for sure. Definately check with corn farmers. You can also call the wildlife managment offices and they can give you some ideas. It used to be that farmers would cal in and report the damage but the state no longerpays for the crop damage so the farmers have stopped calling. What part of Mass are you going to hunt??
