Default Maryland WMA's

Anyone have any luck hunting the WMA's in central Maryland? I've been out scoutingon McKeeBeshers and Prettyboy. Prettyboy looks like it gets hit hard, and not much sign at McKee.
I've heard about special reg deer hunts run by certain counties, but can't find much info.

I have not hunted any central MD WMA'S but have used western and eastern/southern. Haven't had any luck, but have seen many deer taken out. They are there, just a matter of right time and location.

I hunt prettyboy, liberty, patapco, morgan run, Sawmill, I hunt them all. I have killed in all. Prettyboy and liberty is good if you don't go to the usual locations everyone else goes.

I've scouted prettyboy 3 times in the last few months and saw lots of deer. Butwe also found 7 treestands in key area's. I'm not sure if we're gonna hunt it or not, it does seem like it gets hit really hard.

I had the same problem in my public hunting area. One day I marked all the stand locations with my GPS, called them in to DNR. After a few months and some reminding, DNR took the stands down.

Not sure if you want to go to that trouble, but it's nice to know that the spotis no longerreserved by someone who doesn't want to play by the rules.

That would be the North Tract of the Patuxent Wildlife refuge. Over 8,000 acres to hunt, and it ain't bad at all.

Doug, I swear I'm going to hook up with you this year to hunt that place at least once.

I hunted McKee Beshers years ago. I haven't been back since althoughI would bet it is a good area now since so many bowhunters in Montgomery County rely on private property. I would assume that MB doesn't get much attention anymore.

With all the suburban-deer herd problems in MoCoit is highly likely there are a good number of deer there and very few hunters.
