Going to Six Mile Run near Black Moshannon/Phillipsburg area. Don't know how active the trout will be with all the cold weather.....things may be a little slow. I know for sure my legs and feet are gonna get cold quick with waders on in that water!! BRRRRR!!!

I'll probably go to the Laurel Hill hatchery and get a few to fry up. Been doing that the last few years.

The last three years that I got my license, I only went out twice. That was several years ago before the last increase. That just wasn't worth it to me. I can spend $10 at the hatchery and get a few real nice 14 inchers.

My neighbor has three ponds loaded with bass, blue gills and channel cats.
I fish there in the summer just for fun.

I use to do that up at 3AM stuff and wait till 8AM to fish for many years. It was fun but at my age, it ain't fun no more

Good luck all!

Last time I went, I would hook one and ask a kid nearby to "hold my fishin' rod for a minute while I go getsomething". The look on a little kids face when they feel a fish pulling on the line is priceless. Their parents usually appreciated it and the kid got to keep the fish too. If no kids were around I just threw 'em back. I probablywon't go this year. My kids don't want to go with me anymore.
I know...boo hoo.

I'll be where I always start the season. A nice run or pocket on First Fork w/ my Orvis rod. It's going to warm up a little so I hope to see some hatch activity. Maybe a blue quill or dark dendrickson.

I will still be out, but I've lost so much interest over the years. We used to have a nice good group and laugh all morning. No drunkenness type stuff, just some good old fashion fun. Now our group has all but gotten lost and I'll probably just head out with my sister, her boyfriend and his son.

I'll be going to camp in Tionesta and the boys and I will probably hit The Branch or Salmon Creek. We'll eat our annual trout dinner and then in a week or so I'll start chasin the crappies at Crooked Creek

BTbowhunter...let me know how ya do up there!! dad and i used to go up there every opener and fish both creeks!! we changed the trip this year to the 2nd weekend in May. last year we didnt go either...

i dont know that ill fish the opener. last year dad didnt...i drove to some local creeks and laughed...didnt even get out of my truck. then i went to the parts store and picked up my exhaust and worked on that the rest of the day...i had a nice adventure planned where i shouldnt see anyone else at all...but i dont know if ill go...i already caught a bunch of trout this year...the opener is just another day in my book since i found out about special reg fishing...

this recent cold snap will definently slow things down a bit id bet. night time temps are still in the 30s. heck its still snowin here in northern butler...that waters still gunna be cold.

if you wear breathables and stay in the water long wear layers....i been using just jeans and been getting cold in 70 degree temps and moving around alot...just a FYI..
