I'm kinda new to hunting. I've hunted in some State Game Lands in the Lancaster/Lebanon area (I live in Lancaster), and many hunters said the deer hunting wasnt going to good. Does anyone know of any productive public land open for deer hunting? I was thinking of heading up-state next season, like Bradford county.
Public land can be good if you know what to do, and where to set up.
I have gotten deer nine years in a row on the first day of the season, lately it's been multiple deer and guess where? That's right, public land. But I'm in one of the southern tier counties, you want something up north.
Check out State Game lands 211(I think)in Dauphin Co.It's off Rte.322.Big woods-type game land and if you get off the road and head up the mountain, you'll see less hunters and alot more deer.Clark's Creek runs thru it(a great trout stream, also).
