Default Late season southern Maryland bow buck

A buddy of mine got a 21 1/2" spread, 5" bases 6 point buck Friday afternoon. His pictures are the first few on35 mm film, so it will be a while before he emails them to me, but I thought I'd mention this to those thinking about going before the season ends. Get this - a few bucks were chasing some doe fawns that just now were mature enough to come into estrus. He said it was like hunting in early November.

Another buddy of mine hit a buck last night (no description of the size, just a brief phone message), and is going out this morning to track it.

good job Doug. I was driving to work last tues. at around 9:30 pm in the Hunt Valley area and had a doe come bolting in front of my car, and then over on the white line of the other lane I saw a huge half rack 5 point nose to the ground running her! This was Jan 16th!!!!!!! I was in shock, I was wondering if he dropped his other antler or what. But he was definatly interested in what she had

Congrats to your buddy on a late Jan bow hunt! I am hoping to get out an afternoon this week and saturday if I get the chance. I don't want to hang the bow up just yet, so I'll do my best to get out again.

Yeah Rick, that's him. He got several nice bucks again this year (2 with a bow, and one or twowith his rifle), but no REALLYbig ones. Been doing a lot of goose hunting lately too. Good luck with the bow hunt and let us know how it goes.
