Moose hunting in Maine is nearly a sure thing, IF you can draw a tag...Unfortunately, that is easier said than done...I applied for 20 years as a non resident and never drew, and finally gave up...I know some RESIDENTS who have applied for years and never drew... It's a tough draw...

Deer hunting in most parts of Maine is typical big woods hunting...VERY large bucks, but not a lot of them...You might hunt a week at a time without even seeing a deer...It's a good state to kill a whopper whitetail and every year they kill bucks that dress out 250 pounds and over, but it's not a good place to hunt deer if you want to see a lot of deer and stand a good chance of killing one every year...Much different from many places in the south, midwest, or mid Atlantic states..

Turkey hunting is relatively new in Maine and the population is rapidly expanding..Limit is still one gobbler per season, but the birds are numerous and relatively naiive in many areas..It should continue to improve..

Maine has excellent hunting for snowshoe hares and some upland birds such as grouse and woodcock, as well as good duck and goose hunting in some areas...

I don't know anything about the job market...I expect that, like most other places, there are jobs available for anyone who is willing to work..

Bradford is a pretty nice area to be in, you would be close to the Bangor/Brewer area. Bangor/Brewer area has part of Maine's Expanded Archery zone in it. That hunt runs from Sept. to around the end of Dec. For as far as work I am not sure what you are interested in. Just north of Bradford a paper mill owned by Georgia-Pacific ( in Old Town )was closed down and is currently being redone for a power plant and a few other things. Beddington would give you a longer drive to get work in the Bangor/Brewer area as it is more like a small settlement out farther in the country without much in the job market area. It is also good hunting in this area as well. Let me know if I can be of more help to you.

I have property in Stow Me. and in 3 1/2 years I am going to retire and build up there and get the heck out of Mass. I love that area its not the cheepest area in the state but its not that bad either. I am right on the NH border so I can do ll my shopping tax free and the deer hunting is pretty good. Its in the mountins which I also love. Great bear hunting, good bird hunting peace and quit the neighbors leave you alone but are very freindly. Plus your not 1000 miles from civilation when you want it. I feel that this area is the best of all worlds.
