Default Sheds

I shot a huge Buck the last couple of days of the Mass muzzle Loader season, The problem is that he already dropped his antlers and it looked like it coulden't have been more then 48 hours before I shot him. (I thought I had shot the world redord Doe at first. Anyway my question is I am not a shed hunter but I really would like to find these sheds as the sockets on the deers head were 3 1/2 inches around. The Taxidermest said if I found them hewould be able to fix them to mount. Does any one have any suggestions on how to get started or where tostart looking. The piece he was in is a small 30 ac. lot but there are huge lots on 2 other sides. I'm hoping he lost them in the small 30 ac. lot. Thanks Mike

Default RE: Sheds

Grid seach. Put on some walking shoes. Check the rubs, scrapes, bedding areas. If your done hunting your good. If not your going to mess up your hunting. if you want to find them it's going to be hard. Check feilds. Fence rows, the may fall off after he jumps. Its a real chalenge to find a shed let alone a matched set. Go off the beaten trail and look. Check every leaf pile there is. If it looks almost like a tine. Go to it. It's just look look look. Good luck!
