Default dont pull by the horns

[:@]learned good lesson ,went to pick up head by the horns to show my dad and one of the horns came right off with no effort.i hope there not dropping this early or we,ll never see a buck this year.

where are you located ( state ) bud ??? how long has it been since the rut ???? what temperature is it in your area ???? what's the normal average temperature in your area for this time of year , and for the winter months of january and february ????

all of these are factors

temp has been about 50,in dutchess,ny.still havent witnessed any rut activity,scrapes are minimal.

Dragged close to 50 bucks by the handles (antlers), and we hang all our bucks by their racks, never had an antler break off. Perhaps that buck had a calcium deficiency or wasn't producing enough testosterone...

I hate when that happens.Seems to me it has a lot to do with yhe condition of the deer .Most of the ones Ihave seenfall off this time of year where wounded,wore clear out or young.

I have seen a couple half racks this year and have shot a half rack as early as oct.....
