Default My cousin shot my big buck

I have only been out one day this year so far for my boy's youth hunt in late October in Maine, but I'll be going out thur, fri and sat.

This morning, my cousin was sitting in the blind I was going to use this weekend and he bagged a nice 205 pound eleven pointer! He's going to send the pics and I'll post them. Good for him though - his first deer was a monster.

Oh well- I plan to take the first one I see this year since I've only got these three days because Thanksgiving weekend I'm going to devote to getting my boy a deer. I'm in a two year drought, so I fully intend to use my any deer permit if I need to. Wish me luck.

At least you kept it in the family! I have seen guys get all upset when someone else shot the deer they thought they would be tagging. That's hunting though. Just because their tree cameras took pictures of nice bucks, don't mean they will be the ones getting the shot at them!

Yeah, I'm not too upset because honestly I'd rather eat a nice 100 pound skipper than a big monster like that, so I'm just glad to see someone in my hunting party get the big one.

Not that I would in any way, shape or form pass up the big guy if he comes out.

i saw a couple nice bucks when i was home this weekend, and i told my dad i was afraid someone would bag them before i get back next week, and he said "you wouldnt like to see me get him?"
and i was like no way! i just want you to wander around in the woods and ruin other guys' hunts so these bucks are still alive for me!

it would be good to see him get one, it would be better to see me get him though

Isn't that funny. Here someone get's a photo of a big buck, on a piece of trail that is a small part of the deer's 1 or 2 mile range, and they think it's gonna be their deer......

That's a heck of a buck! Congrats to your cousin, and good luck to you!!!!

I had a good day - took a nice 120 pound doe last night just at sunset. About 200 yards from where my cousin shot that deer. I sat through a 2 1/2 hours rainstorm to get her, so I was pretty happy. Next weekend I hope to get my 11 year old son his first weekend.
