do to lack of deer here in pa. wmu 2g,the bucks we are seeing are moving all around to find doe..we have reports of seeing the same buck over 1 and 1/2 miles away from where seen ..

to hunt like this i think best way is on ground not in treestand unless you can find where he goes back forth, but you may have long wait..

the hunters i know are having a very hard time getting a deer here in wmu 2g do to following this year..

food is everywhere, like last year..more pressure on deer that are left..weather has been terrible ,now COLD..less doe means buck have to travel..

reports are coming in of seeing bucks with backpacks on, ha..

I thought bucks mainly go into rut b/c of the amount of light. They sensea certain amount of lightin the fall by way of their preorbital gland and that puts them into rut.

Yep that's how it happens. The rut will happen every year whether it's 80 degrees or 30 degrees.

True, the rut will happen what ever the temps are, but it is surpressed a bit in the hot weather up in the north.. It's not what the deer are used too.. Hopefully, it will stay cool..
