Default any Longislanders notice this?

everytime ive hunted i see about 12 does to 1 buck, is it just the area im at, or is it like this every where, is there any site that acutally shows you the stats?

It does depend on where you are but i feel overall the does are much more abundant.

Yeah thereis definitely a screwed up buck to doe ratio in LI. I hunt in Southhampton, this also lessens the effect of teh rut because the bucks do not have to fight for does because tere are so many.

Yeah, shoot those does.

Call the DEC, and speak with the region's deer biologist (if allowed), or the CPS. They'll be able to give you what info they have on ratio.

Don't bother they don't have a clue. They do know that there are too many deer, that is why there are multiple tags and very long seasons to hopefully harvest as many as possible. Long Island also has a buck shooting mentality. There are many nuisance permits issued where the shooters are out there to shoot the big bucks and not to shoot the does so the nuisance problem continues year after year. It is funny every year that the main nuisance shooting activity begins in September when most of the deer have shed their velvet and the bad thing is that by this time most of the crops have been harvested already.
