Default Good Luck Vermont Bowhunters

Good Luck to any Vermonters headed out tomorrow. Shoot straight and wear a safety harness.

And good luck to you. Man....I have been counting down the
days and now it's here. There are a couple of small bucks hanging
around. I promised my kids I would save them for youth weekend.
We are in a no doe zone so this should be fun....
Good Luck All,

Any of you have any luck? I saw a few bowhunters out this past weekend in Newfane VT. What area of VT are you hunting?

I hunt in Bennington County, Zone P. Saw a few does, but I let them walk. Not much deer movement yet, should pick up in the next couple of weeks.

Not much here... Just some yotes. Saw 2 does at noon on Sat.
while hanging a stand. We are in a no doe zone. Thats O.K.
My kids hunt youth weekend so I don't need to shoot them.

Mike, I think you are correct about the movement. We have
a bunch of rubs around my land....140acres. Trouble is in a
few weeks our season is done. It would be nice to hunt the
rut with a bow.

I agree Big G, I usually have the most sucess the last week of the season.I wish they would move all the seasons back 3 weeks and let the bowhunters in the woods during the rut. Then you would see many more mature animals in the woods. Just my opinion.

There is nothing stopping you from hunting with a bow later in the season in Vermont. You can use your bow during rifle season.

This will be the first season in a looooong time that I won't be hunting VT. I grew up just south of Rutland in Clarendon and Shrewsbury and shot a lot of deer there in the early and mid 90's but the last few years have been tough. Unfortunately the hunting is so tough up there I won't go back I don't think since I own in PA and hunt a nice piece in central NY as well. I hope the AR's do well up there so I can justify coming back, not many things are prettier than the first full week of Oct in VT. I wish you guys the best of luck. I miss seeing moose during archery season.........

Vt. True you can. With all the rifle hunters that hunt on and around
my land it makesfor veryhard bowhunting. Now if I was to post
it and keep all other hunters off it that would work. At least the deer
would be less pressured and easier to pattern. I won't post it though...
I hunt other places that are not......
