Default Remember the Poachers ?

Someone posted here earlier about some poachers that a warden was
assumed to have been involved with? Well one of them has pleaded guilty
to five counts of night hunting and one count of hunting without a license, exceeding the bag limit on bear, using light snare traps or set guns to hunt and cruelty to animals. He has received six months in jail and orderd to pay a $6000 dollar fine for the cold blooded slaughter of animals, including the shooting of a nieghbors dog. Another dog he had run down with his vehicle. He was orderd to pay $500 in restitution to the owners of the pets he killed wantonly. He also faces federal charges for the allegedly shooting of seals. Two others are still waiting their turn in court of the same issues. I knew some of you wanted to here some of the results of these no good poachers.

I forgot to mention that they were fromdowneast in Washington County, Maine.

I agree $6000 is getting off light. These low lifes deserve losing any hunting prevledges in the entire U.S. for life along with not being able to own a firearm.

I am not saying the warden was guilty, and I agree this fine is pretty light
for all the things they have done. Hopefully the seal hunting will do more
damage to them. That being a federal offense should make this one a feloney, so no more license. But, they have hunted without the licenses before. They had people in that area scared of them for fear of being
burnt out or something. One guy I was talking to that lived near them told
them he has a double barrel. He said I have been known to miss with the
first one but never on the second. He told them that to keep them out of
his fields, and never had them come back again.
