Default don't damage the tree- so what do you do?

I hunt public lands and I know the law is that you can not damage the tree so how do you hang your bow! Everything I see that holds the bow screws into the tree. what do you all do to hold your bow? I tried one of those bow holder that goes on the stand base but did not like it that much. any help would be great!
Thanks

I have several old strap on tree steps, I wrap the step part with tape and use them. Bow hangs right next to the tree just over my left shoulder facing the back of the stand. Very easy to slowly reach up, stick my hand inside the sling and ready to go.

tke you screw in bow hook and screw it into a scrap of 1" thick lumber (like a piece of a firring strip). Then take a ratchet binderor cargoe tie down, even a stout bungee and wrap it around the tree and slip the scrap of wood under it. Personally, I like the hooks made for hanging ladders. They usually come in red or yellow but you can paint em or cover em with camo tape. They keep the bow out from the tree a bit farther and it hangs better if you have a bow quiver on the bow

i use 2 treesteps with straps, you wrap around tree.1 holds my gear and pee bottle ,other my bow or gun.now, on to TRUTH. i would say that almost everyone i look up tree at has those little hangers SCREWED into live tree.you think thats bad, most i see on stateforestland have steps screwed into trees.no one is checking ,so they do it.

I have a rachet strap that I put around tree with a extra long screw in step (with the screw part cut off to satisfy DCNR) put underneith the strap, has held wll so far, but then I do rachet the strap rather tight, that helps muchly.
