Are deer decoys legal for deer in NY?

I have never heard they aren't. I wouldn't use one in my area,too many people.

This is a good question. No idea if they are or not. I know alot of guys that leave thier 3-d deer out.

Thanks for the reply's. I have never read that it's not,but than I never have read that it is. I'll Call the DEC this week and find out for sure. I'm not douting you Muckland, But how do you know it's LEGAL.... .I'll post after I find out.

Itinerant, go to the NY DEC site ist in there somewhere? ived used them a coulpe of times. mostly small buck were fooled. but the big boys wanted nothin to to with it

I called the DEC a few years about it and was told "of course they are " ! I said I couldn't find anything saying they were legal and he said , "there is nothing in there saying they are illegal so that makes them legal" ! The guy acted like he was having a bad day and wanted to take it out on someone !
