I see no problem in it. That is my favorite part of the rule. Junior hunters should be able to shoot any buck "legal as of last years standards". You won't believe the fire that harvesting a buck will put into you. You get that first buck, and you will have the time counted till the next season by the second. Keep plugging away. Geez, if you want a buck, come down here, I can put you on a bunch of them. Some are REALLY nice bucks, but, they just don't cut the 4 points per side.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet

No problem, go get them Mauser06, that's what the rule is designed for. Get your first buck under your belt, than you can get picky.
Good luck!

First off,Your opinion does matter. You are the future of our sport. Every adult hunter has had the chance to shoot a small buck in the past.I think it would be more unfair to say a junior(especially tryin for his first buck)shouldn't have that same chance. It still boils down to choice a junior can choose to pass on a small buck if he wishes.Myself,I've been practicin AR for years. But that has been my choice.Go get em Mauser.

I think that as a junior you should shoot whatever buck you wish. I remember my firt buck like it was yesterday, a small spike. I din't even know it was a spike until I walked up to it. I had shot it during doe day many years ago at about 80 yards with a slug. Man when I saw that it had antlers, albeit teeny tiny ones, I was sooooo excited. It's as if I had shot a 190 class buck. Go for it kiddo, shoot yourself a buck!
Good luck

If the regs say its a legal deer have at it. For some people every single one is a trophy even a doe.
