Just wondering if anyone has been using any scents and if they had any luck with them? I haven't used any yet but was thinking about it tomorrow. Any suggestions?? Thanks

The trick to scents is not what everybody is having success wearing themselves but knowing the right scent for you to use in your area. I own a 300 acre farm in Tucker County, WV. And have hunted the farm for over 30 years. You have to determine what scent blends into your area. I continue to have success every year by using earth scents on myself and my gear. Beware of using buck rut scents unless you are in a treestand. My secret is mock scrapes. If made right it will produce some nice size bucks that you didn't even know existed. Do not use a scent that is new to your area or it will spook them. Become familiar with what types of food your area produced and go with them kinds of scents. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine used Tinks scent bombs (with Tinks 69) on the first day of rifle season last year, and bagged the biggest buck I've seen on my own property. It came in, nose to the ground, heading straight for the scent bombs. The way I figure, the rut activity is later in WV than in Maryland and Virginia. Even this year, I would think there should be some rut activity during rifle season. In fact, we have witnessed rut activity during rifle season more often than not over the past 6 years I have owned the property. I would use the scents any time from now through rifle season. With the bombs, you can reuse them without having to buy more scent.

Its been awhile but i used to use Trails End 307 by Wildlife Research Center. It was a great sent, it wasnt just a doe in heat sent it also contained curiousity scents to bring in more deer. It definetly made them stop and investigate when they came through.
