Well we had ourmeeting at the town hall last night about banning Bow hunting in our city. And I have to tell you the hunters were out in force we easly outnumbered them 10-1 but I really thought it was going to be bad news as every one of them were given a chance to speak and only a couple of us pro guys were alowed to speak. But the fish and game dept showed up and supported us as well as the county leage president the local archery owner. Any way the issued was tabled so that if they need to bring it up again they will. So for now its a dead issue. Not quite a win but we can still keep bowhunting. Thanks to everyone who helped and if I cand help you when this happens to you just let me know. Mike

Congrats for sure! I think that is certainly a success. Afterall, I unfortunately doubt that they would ever permanently protect bowhunting in the town limits. Although that would be great. Maybe while you have the hunters organized, you should try to push for that before everyone quickly forgets.

You may want to keep an eye on the "tabled" status. It's a good way to bring it up at a later meeting without announcing it to the public (and therefore there won't be a large crowd of hunters at the meeting). You gotta watch those guys, they can be slick.

What state do you live in, Mike? Pa and a couple of other Northeastern states, all have state laws forbidding local goverments from imposing any regulation on hunting.

Sounds good for now Mike. It would be nice if the hunters that went to the meeting would maybe take a proactive approach to pass a specific ordinance saying that bowhunting is legal.

Ya Hillbilly This is Mass its so liberal here I'm suprised we still have any hunting here at all. But as long as I'm living here (4 more years) I'll fight to the end. Mike
