Default hunting land pics - layouts

hello--
im hopefully going to lease some land in Va soon and was wandering how you guys layed out ur hunting grounds. I love to see pics on here, so let me have um lol. any pics from stands, blinds, trails, feilds, etc are appreciated. I want to compare land and attempt to lay my tree stands, blinds and feeders out accordingly. thanks alot

Sorry I haven't got quite sophisticated enough for pictures, but can tell you this. Deer are creatures of the edge. Edge of the woods, edge of the fields, edge of the brush, etc. Think edges and funnels. Look for food sources, water, and shelter (bedding areas)and learn the travel routes the deer use to get these places.

Hopefully others will post some pics for you, but if not, you post pics or evendrawingsand we'll analyze and help as much as possible. Good luck

Hey there geterdun, when you acquire the land, go to terraserver.com and print you out a aerial photo and a topo map of your land. I do this to all my new leases. It gives you a detailed "birds eye" view of your property. Look for field edges, natural funnels and saddle backs. Try picking up a copy of the book "Mapping Trophy Whitetails" this book willl help you in determining stand locations and what to look for. It shows you how to read a topo map and using a GPS unit which are both important when you hunt
