There is a documented video of a mountain lion in NEW YORK!!
yet from the very link you provide...
Quote:
The Department of Environmental Conservation wanted to do further studies, stating that it might not have been a mountain lion since the video was shot at a distance of four miles.
So you begin with a falsehood. It is not a "documented video of a mountain lion". The DEC looked at the video and will not confirm it so short of a conspiracy theory it's just more of the same.
I would like to see the video.
If the video is clear, what difference does four miles make?
Satellite pics of you out in your lawn would be real, even with the
huge distance from camera to subject, would they not?
I don't get your point.
Now I have to watch two threads.
Barkeep....beers all around!
The news report was online last fall when it was first talked about. I have lost the link. You could watch some of it then.
A cougar is a cougar, I would say DEC just doesn't want to say it is a WILD cat. They want it to be a release. There are confirmed reports in Quebec and New Brunswick so it is a toss up as to where this cat came from.
When are we gonna get through to some folks, that if and when they ever DO finally wish and wish and finally find a mt lion in NY, that its going to be just what we all said to begin with...a captive animal that escaped or was released privately?
Hey Phade, how about the "lion" thats been tearing up cows and horses south of us? Even after the guy took pictures, video and killed one, they STILL couldnt see it was a wild boar, again, an escapee! Three boars loose, terrorizing domestic animals, they have footage, I saw it, plus the guy shot one of them. Hmmm, if we could just get some proof...hahaha!

I don't understand your thought process here. If your looking for proof that a mountain lion existed in NY, Pa or wherever. What difference does it make if it is a captive animal that escaped or released privately? It is still there isn't it? Now if your talking about them coming here on their own thats a different subject. I don't see all that much talk about these animals coming here from out west or who knows where. Just that people have spotted them now and then.
